Horizon is a versatile service that stores your media, notes and access to your digital portfolio, so it's important that you keep your Horizon account secure from potential adversaries.
When creating a password for your Horizon account, make sure to use a strong and unique password that’s difficult to guess. You can use a password manager like Bitwarden (free) or 1Password (paid) to generate and store a strong password for you. By using a password manager, you can ensure that your password is unique and complex, and you don’t have to worry about remembering it.
Horizon offers 2-factor authentication (2FA) to add an extra layer of security to your account. When 2FA is enabled, you’ll need to enter a code generated by an authenticator app in addition to your password to log in to your account. This makes it much more difficult for attackers to gain access to your account, even if they manage to obtain your password.
You can activate this security feature by going into your Horizon Dashboard.
Then, choose a trustworthy authenticator app to store and generate your 2FA codes.
Horizon also supports WebAuthn, which allows you to use a physical security key or your biometrics to log in to your account instead of a password. This is a more secure form of authentication because it’s not susceptible to phishing attacks or password leaks. However, it’s still important to choose a strong and complex password in case it’s lost or stolen.
Once you've chosen your secure password, you can skip it most of the time by logging in with your passkey instead.
